As an assistant majority whip and the fourth-ranking member of the House of Representatives, just how much and for how long did Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) know about former Rep. Mark Foley's inappropriate contacts with underage pages?
As many of you are well aware, Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL) abruptly resigned Thursday amid allegations of inappropriate behavior with regard to underage pages in the House of Representatives. But the story didn't stop there.
Reporters later uncovered that Republican House Leadership knew about the allegations for months, possibly years, and did everything they could to cover up the problem. Negligence at best, morally wrong and deceptive at worst, the Republican leadership showed just how wrong they are.
Still questions remain, including a few for Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn. As an assistant majority whip and the fourth-ranking member of the House of Representatives, just how much and for how long did Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) know about former Rep. Mark Foley's inappropriate contacts with underage pages? A few days? A couple months? A year or two?
To get some answers, the Bill Morrison campaign is sending out a press release to all the local media outlets.

MORRISON QUESTIONS BLACKBURN'S LEADERSHIP AMID ALLEGATIONS OF REPUBLICAN COVER-UP
CNN Reports on Justice Department Probe of Foley Case
MEMPHIS, TN--Congressional District 7 candidate Bill Morrison sought answers today about Republican House leaders' knowledge of Rep. Mark Foley's inappropriate contacts with underage pages. Morrison's opponent, Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), is an assistant majority whip and the fourth-ranking member of the House of Representatives.
CNN reported Sunday that House Speaker Dennis Hastert has asked the Justice Department to conduct an inquiry into allegations of a cover-up by Republican leaders.
"Voters in Tennessee's 7th District must question whether Marsha Blackburn truly represents our values," Morrison said. "It appears that the House leadership suffered a gross oversight at best, or engaged in unethical and potentially criminal actions at worst."
Bill Morrison is seeking the U.S. Congressional seat for
Tennessee's 7th District, which includes parts of Cheatham, Chester, Davidson, Decatur, Fayette, Hardeman, Hardin, Henderson, Hickman, McNairy, Montgomery, Perry, Shelby, Wayne and Williamson counties.
