I was browsing over at Wonkette and on their front page they have a story about Tony Blankey and his defense in the Washington Times today "Republican Integrity" of their editorial from yesterday urging Hastert to step down...
I started reading it and it pains me to say that I agree with most of it BUT this jumped off the page:
"I have known Denny for almost two decades. He is an exceedingly decent man and a hard worker for conservative Republican values and politics. But we cannot deny the fact that he had a sustained lapse of good judgment. The fact that he reportedly has been quite ill for some time may be an explanation -- but not an excuse."
What's next? Is Boehner going to have amnesia? Is Reynolds going to show up for his next Press conference with seeing-eye dogs instead of children as props?
In the last few days:
alcoholism
sexual molestation
Democrats (the surreal Limbaugh interview)
the poor kids themselves (Drudge)
have all been trotted out as excuses for Foley and by extension the GOP leadership
I mean it is getting far past the point of being outrageous...and speaking of amnesia why can't these people ever remember anything anymore
>Condi can't remember getting briefed about terrorist attacks
>Hastert can't remember getting warned about possible predatory emails
it must some sort of epidemic
well..the only true way out of this is another war
good thing they got a head start on that one
