The Centralia Sentinel and State Journal-Register (Springfield) are reporting that while support for Danny Stover is increasing, John Shimkus still leads in polls and with district-wide support.
The front-page headline of the State Journal Register today detailed a story about district-wide support for Shimkus still being high despite fall-out from the Foley scandal. This is not surprising news to the Stover campaign. We feel that our name is finally known and now the issues can help decide the election.
The Centralia Sentinel conducted a non-scientific poll in the 4 county area surrounding Centralia (Clinton, Marion, Washington, Jefferson). Minding that these are only 4 of the portions of 40 counties in the 19th Congressional District, the Sentinel polled 190 voters. Shimkus received 96 votes (50.5%), Stover 65 (34.2%) and 29 undecided (15.3%).
The potential is definitely there for an upset. Thanks for all your help!
