The Foleygate scandal has triggered a Congressional Inquiry that is
contacting all former pages from all districts.
The breadth of this inquiry has raised a red flag with me. The inquiry is not just asking about contact with Foley, it is asking about contact with any member of the House.
We are dealing with Republican RatFuckers who have rigged vote counts. Would they even hesitate to falsify an email/IM record in order to make Foleygate a "bipartisan" scandal?
How would something like this work?
Obviously, falsifying an email/IM record cannot take place over night. But the time frame of this inquiry provides plenty of time for record alterations.
The most difficult part will be implanting the falsified record into the email/IM service provider's hard-drives/back-up tapes. The hard-drives can probably be altered from offsite by using a "military grade" virus/trojan.
But the backup tapes may be more problematic; they could require physical access on two occasions. If the offsite attack is not able to get a template for the tape backup records, then there would have to be two physical penetrations of the tape-backup vault.
The first penetration would be to copy* a tape and get the template for the record format.

Once the record format has been obtained and analyzed, then the falsified record could be produced and implanted into the vault. However, backup tapes that cannot be altered could just be destroyed in an unfortunate "accident".
*If duplication cannot take place on site, then a tape from the middle of the backup cycle would have to be stolen and a dummy left in its place. If the back-up cycle uses one month's worth of tapes, then the middle tape won't be re-used (or missed) for about two weeks. Also, a middle tape is less likely to be used if a back-up is required while the tape is missing.
If I were a Republican RatFucker, there are two things I would be looking for:
A former Democratic page who can be blackmailed into cooperating.
The email/IM service provider that is most vulnerable to falsification of its server/back-up tape records.
So, do you think the Republicans RatFuckers will try this?
