I come to DailyKos to get my fill of left leaning news and to read a few good rants. Heck, I have even vented a few times in my own diaries. However, I have noticed recently really tasteless advertisements that go against what the DailyKos community stands for.
Case in piont, there is currently an ad for Robin Williams new movie Man of the Year. This looks like it is going to be another horrible movie. Robin Williams was once a terrific comedian. He performed some classic roles in some of the greatest conmedies ever. Besides his unbelievable stand up routine and terrific voice over for the movie Alladin, Williams is the star of such films as Good Morning Vietnam and Dead Poets Society. He awed us in Awakenings, and he made us laugh in Mrs. Doubtfire.
But things have not been so good for Robin Williams lately. Movies like Death to Smoochy, RV, and Insomnia have shown Williams to be an aging actor without much taste in the movies he selects. So I say celebrate the mans career. Lets talk about the positive things Robin Williams has provided us. Lets talk about his supporting role in Good Will Hunting. Lets talk about his crazy antics in The Birdcage.
However, Kos is not up for that. Instead, he insists on reminding us of Williams fading career by insisting on advertising for Williams' latest bomb, Man of the Year. Whats next, ads for Chevron?
I say Rise up Kossacks. Rise up and take back this site. Rise up and scream at the top of your lungs. We are not going to see that movie Kos, no matter how much you advertise it.
