We Need Help In The Virginia 5th!
This is a sleeper race, well below the national radar that pits a corrupt Virgil Goode against an American Hero. But it is a race that we can win in this climate, if we can get the word out in a final push.
Al Weed went to war for America, serving in the military for 42 years and rising to the rank of Command Seargent Major. Al Weed is a real soldier, and he wants our troops brought home.
When he came home, to raise his family and run the family farm, Al was disturbed at the economic conditions he found in the Virginia 5th. Jobs have been shipped overseas, the tobacco farmers could no longer find a buyer for their crops, and the huge stands of forest were being harvested to feed children and pay mortgages. Al wants to use the agricultural heritage of this area to develop and test bio-fuels, and develope a bio-fuels industry in the 5th.
Al Weed's son is a general surgeon, who will be returning to Iraq shortly. Al's wants to be a part of a government that cares for, and about, all of the young men and women, caught up in this misbegotten war.
At a Town Meeting on Sunday, Al reported that for every American death reported in Iraq, 8 men and women are injured. More than one half of those injuries are life altering, including amputations, brain damage, and loss of sight. This while a Republican Congress is cutting funding for the Veteran's Administration.
Last Friday, the campaign began airing television ads about Al to let the voters know what an amazing American hero we're going to send to Washington on November 7th.
We're confident that once the voters hear about Al's history, that they'll turn their backs on Virgil Goode.
But to get this message out, we need your help. We need to raise $35,000 by October 15th in order to keep Al's amazing story on the air.
Please go to the link below and drop $5 or $10 bucks in the kitty. Every little bit helps. Thank you.
Can we really trust a lawyer with no practical combat experience to keep our military safe? Al Weed is a proven soldier. He's been to battle and he's led troops. We can depend on him to make rational national security decisions to get us out of the Bush mess.
Do you really think a career politician can figure out how to bring jobs to the 5th district and maintain our rural way of life? Ten years is too long a learning curve. We need a businessman and farmer like Al Weed to help develop a bio-fuels industry.
And do you really want a man whose only connection to the debacle in Iraq is the campaign contributions he's taken from defense contractors, to decide when we should pull our troops out?
Let's send a proud Democrat to Washington and clean up this Iraqi mess.
