Federal prosecutors are
going after Greenpeace.
Utilizing an obscure 19th century law originally written to prevent pubs and prostitutes from luring sailors ashore, federal prosecutors are using the courts to attack Greenpeace. The case could lead to Greenpeace losing its tax-exempt status, "allow federal probation officers to oversee certain parts of its organization," and more.
Fearful at what they believe is a dangerous precedent, activist organizations on both the political Left and Right are coming to Greenpeace's aid.
