Harold Ford returned to Memphis from his across the state bus tour. Handy he had a bus near by so he could throw the Democratic party under it. More below.
The local weekly newspaper did an article about Harold Ford's speech at the end of his bus tour yesterday.
Here is the article:

Ford has been taking a pounding on the local Memphis progressive blogs since Rosiland Kurita dropped out of the race. Upon getting out of the bus, Ford told the crowd:
"I'm not a Democrat," he said at one point, `running up to Washington yelling `Democrat, Democrat, Democrat, Democrat.' Somebody's going to go, and I know I make some Democrats upset at times because I'm just a believer if it works, you have to support it."
After reading this, you have to wonder what Democratic policies don't work. It's easy to say what republican policies don't but tell us Congressman Ford, what Democratic policies don't? Is it social security? Congressman Ford, you were snuggling up with Republicans about privatization before it became clear it was unpopular. In fact so much so, Bob Novak wrote about you jumping possibly jumping ship. Or were Democrats wrong about Terri Schiavo, the Bankruptcy Bill (Memphis has the second highest bankruptcy rate in the nation. Shame on you.), the war, the Patriot Act, and gay rights. Congressman Ford you sided, along with other vichy Democrats with Republicans on all of these issues. But your not finnished undercutting the Party yet are you. Lets look at what else you said.
"Ford's ecumenical style at times made him sound like a candidate in a local non-partisan race: "I don't know of any Republican way of paying $69 dollar per barrel of oil. I don't know of any Democratic way to lose your job. I don't know of a Republican way to pay too much for prescription drugs. I don't know of a Democrat way to run up the deficit."
You see Congressman Ford, it real doesn't help to engage Republican talking points. Democratic policies make Americans lose jobs and run up deficits? You were in congress when Bill Clinton was President. Was I dreaming or did all those jobs and budget surpluses not happen?
But Ford then said something completely strange:
"At his conclusion, Ford even offered advice to Republicans as to how they might publicly justify support for his candidacy. "If Republicans can defend Don Rumsfeld and George Bush, then you can defend me!""
Harold Ford sucks as bad as Joe Lieberman.
