Democrats see signs of hope in Senate
"the former Vermont governor's vow to battle "right-wing ideologues" by providing a hand to progressives in selected local, state and federal elections gives his party another glimmer of hope in the Senate.
Sen. George Allen of Virginia, chairman of the Senate Republican campaign committee, said he does not fear Kerry or Dean. "Bring Kerry and Dean down to the South. Our guys would be shaking," Allen said with a grin. "I'm happy where we are."
Sen. Jon Corzine, chairman of the Senate Democratic campaign committee, said, "Howard Dean will be a hell of a spokesman for candidates of a certain ilk." Flashing a grin of his own, Corzine said: "We're going to win."

I think Senator Allen's comment constitutes a challange. He want Dean and Kerry to bring it on because the Republicans are waiting down South for them. I can't wait for Dean and Kerry to tear these boys a new one. In fact I expect Dean will play great in the South. He has a fiscal conservative streak in him a mile wide and with his views on the rights of gun owners. I expect as a VA resident that he will play far bigger in the South then poor little Allen, the media, or even most democrats could imagine.
The gauntlet has been thrown down by Allen, it is time for Dean and Kerry to meet the challange.
