So, you're fed up with the way our government runs things. You think that there's nothing you can do, since all the elections are bought, and all the politicians are crooks.
Hey, they're still rioting in France, maybe it's time to think about a little REVOLUTION here at home.
Before you go down that road, take a moment to think about what that means.
(thoughts on the flip.)
Are you ready to stand watches at night? During war-time, you will have to be ready at all times, even while you are asleep.
Are you ready to see bodies in the street daily? They see them all the time in countries with revolutions.
Are you ready to attack and kill people who disagree with you? This is standard fare for almost all revolutions. Those with the government are Collaborators, and those against the government are Terrorists. If you aren't supporting one side, you very well could get shot as a traitor to both.
Are you ready to be hungry? Supply lines are one of the first things to be disrupted during a revolution. Fresh food that is not locally produced will become scarce. In accordance with that, are you ready for your Children to b hungry.
Are you ready to be afraid? If you aren't actively fighting, there is a chance that you will be taken "hostage". Essentially the anti-terrorists will threaten to kill you unless the rebels give up. Better hope you don't have any family fighting in the revolution, because you'll be first on the list.
Are you ready to do without power and luxuries? There's a good chance that your power might be rationed. Gasoline too, so say goodbye to your freedom of movement.
Are you willing to lose your freedom of speech? Wartime censorship will almost certainly be in place. If it isn't, see "traitors" above..
Are you willing to carry "papers" everywhere? Armed forces will most likely be on the street. The military likes to shoot first and ask questions a couple of weeks later. Corellary: Are you willing to brave a military checkpoint to go to work like they have to in Israel?
Are you ready to die? Civil wars are bloody and often last for years. If a foreign power gets involved your chances of dying increase no matter which side you are on.
If after all of these questions, you still feel the answer is yes, THEN talk to me about revolution. We have a great deal to lose in a war.
There must be change, however, and if there is a war because the system will not change, we will all have to adjust. Sometimes the cure is painful, but must occur. The trick is realizing when the condition warrants the cure.
