In terms of political damage, Rove and Libby are better off staying right where they are. It is a mistake to jump on the fire/resign bandwagon.
The press smells blood, and they are circling like sharks in the WH press pool. It's a welcome change to the Milquetoasts we have come to loathe.
But the American public is quick to forget; as soon as Rove is 'frog marched' away or scampers off into the darkened shadows those 'mainstream Americans' who get their daily info from AM radio and TV news will soon get distracted by the next bright shiny object.
Put the GOP on the defensive and keep them there, as long as possible. Point out all the GOP hypocrisy, the inconsistancy, the equivocating. Find the 'bumpersticker' - keep it short and simple, drive the points home over, and over again. Do not draw conclusions, do not call for actions [except more investigation, since lack of same implies cover up]. Let the American public at large draw it's own conclusions.
Rove best serves as the rotten pumpkin that stinks up the Bush Potemkin Village of 'moral authority'. Day after day, the stench permeating into the very essence of everything the Bush Admin does.
We can use this rotten pumpkin Rove coach as a ride to victory in 2006, if we play it right.
