One of Congress' longest lasting members, Duncan Hunter (CA-52), may have just run out of flava'.
I live in CA-52. John Rinaldi is the Democrat candidate running for Hunter's seat. He sent me an email filled with hope and uplifting news...
Hunter is now officially linked with the Duke of Disgrace, Cunningham.
Come rejoice with me below...
Dear Friends,
Insider information. Tax evasion. And now the dots are connected in a way that is far too reminiscent of San Diego's turmoil with Randy "Duke" Cunningham.
The Department of Justice unsealed a lawsuit that names Duncan Hunter and Brent Wilkes of ADCS -- the same Brent Wilkes who was named the co-conspirator of Cunningham -- in assigning a government contract of paper to computer documentation conversion.
The Department of Justice explained that the allegations state that two San Diego Representatives, Cunningham and Duncan Hunter, pushed a defense contract through Congress to ADCS which was incapable of fulfilling the requirements. ADCS and Brent Wilkes were top contributors to Duke Cunningham's campaigns, and remain among the top contributors to Duncan Hunter.
In fact, in official documents, Pentagon officials name Duncan Hunter as a partner in Cunningham's actions to create the program, a $9.7 million contract that was never requested by the military. The Pentagon's inspector general has testified that this project was not requested, and was never necessary.
Friends, we have three weeks to get our message out to the voters so that those in the 52nd District know that Duncan Hunter is on the same path as Cunningham -- straight to jail.
Contribute now so that we can get that message out to the voters. The last thing our District, the last thing our nation needs, is another extremely expensive special election.
Now more than ever, Duncan Hunter is vulnerable. November 7 will be our day. It will not be a day for Republicans or Democrats. It will be a day for hard-working, honest Americans!
Your Friend,
John Rinaldi
(Emphasis mine)
FYI, I live in CA-52 and this is wonderful news considering Hunter has been sitting comfortably since Reagan was elected. Let's toss the old bag before we're saddled with the same crap CA-50 has had to endure.
We could use help if you live near our district and would greatly appreaciate it. (Another FYI, my gf and I walked for 7 hours before Busby's first attempt in the special election, please return the favor).
Peace
