Oh. My. Gawd.

Arizona Congressman J.D. Hayworth sends a spokeman to cover for him at a candidates forum at a Jewish temple in Scottsdale, Arizona earler this week. Hilarity ensues.
The spokeman, Jonathan Tratt, first tells the audience at Temple Beth Israel that Congressman Hayworth "is a more observant Jew" than those present. Hayworth happens to be a Baptist.
Three fourth of the audience walk out booing. But there's more! Everyone hasn't been offended yet.
The wife of Tratt then tells those who didn't walk out, "No wonder there are anti-Semites."
JD's folks sure know how to win friends and influence people.
Previously JD had provoked the ire of Jews by praising Henry Ford's Americanization theories with regard to illegal immigration. Ford, you see, believed that Jews weren't properly assimilating, just like the Meskins. Hayworth argued that he didn't mean anything antisemitic by his remarks citing Henry Ford and many bought it. How will his campaign try to spin this one? This is like manna from heaven for the Mitchell campaign. Is it any wonder Hayworth was once selected as one of the dimmest bulbs in Congress? Here's hoping we in Arizona will be rid of him soon.
