Oh. My. Gawd.

Via Harry Mitchell for Congress

Arizona Congressman J.D. Hayworth sends a spokeman to cover for him at a candidates forum at a Jewish temple in Scottsdale, Arizona earler this week. Hilarity ensues.

The spokeman, Jonathan Tratt, first tells the audience at Temple Beth Israel that Congressman Hayworth "is a more observant Jew" than those present.  Hayworth happens to be a Baptist.

Three fourth of the audience walk out booing. But there's more!  Everyone hasn't been offended yet.

The wife of Tratt then tells those who didn't walk out, "No wonder there are anti-Semites."

JD's folks sure know how to win friends and influence people.

Previously JD had provoked the ire of Jews by praising Henry Ford's Americanization theories with regard to illegal immigration.  Ford, you see, believed that Jews weren't properly assimilating, just like the Meskins. Hayworth argued that he didn't mean anything antisemitic by his remarks citing Henry Ford and many bought it. How will his campaign try to spin this one?  This is like manna from heaven for the Mitchell campaign.  Is it any wonder Hayworth was once selected as one of the dimmest bulbs in Congress?  Here's hoping we in Arizona will be rid of him soon.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

Apparently, they can't make public appearances without making anti-Semitic comments.

As one of the most obnoxious, bloviating assholes in the republican line-up. He's a Rush Limbaugh copycat-- a hasbeen right wing talk show host. But then again, it sounds like he has a wife from hell-- so he's already getting his due desserts.<g>

Oh it would be SUCH a joy to get rid of a congressman who TRIES to do a Rush Limbaugh impersonation!

It rubs the loofah on its skin or else it gets the falafel again.

I always knew Hayworth is full of hate and anger .. from his horrid views on immigration to now his religious feelings. But I guess when you are fighting for continued power in a district that WAS considered safe for him, he will say and do anything including showing one can put both feel in his mouth!

Hayworth is a rat and Mitchell is going to exterminate him!

All I want for election day is AZ-05 Harry Mitchell, AZ-Sen Jim Pederson, AZ-Gov Janet Napolitano (2nd term!) and for the Dems to control the House and Senate.

  •  J.D.'s future career opportunities (0+ / 0-)

I think J.D. See's the handwriting on the wall.

Guy's like J.D are the Big galoot's of any crowd they join, content to be the fellow who is sent to fetch and set up the keg at a party, hold on to the steroid's for the football team, even his stint as "sportscaster was the has been college player given a gig in small market share Phoenix before it tripled population,

He became a politician for the same reason he used to go and fetch the beer in high school, someone in his crowd told him to. while in congress he did exactly what was expected of him. times come when the smart guys get problems of their own, So the J.D's are left to fend for it as best they can, the party is getting busted up and big dumb jocks like J.D. just kinda stand there looking like big dumb jocks,
If he offends Jew's trust me he truly thinks kosher is a kind of hot dog you eat at a ball game. Yea he may have a B.A from what ever college he played ball for but it's not like he ever studied or took any exams for it.

I anticipate J.D. will be the new face on the FOX network in a few months, would not surprise me if the contract is already drawn up.
