Where to place the Memorial to GWB's Presidency?
There is some controversy (ahem!) about whether to put up say,a Library or a Gymnasium with holographic projectors by Disney to share the outstanding and squatting and grunting moments of GW's Presidential legacy but I am not here to criticize that but to praise the choice of ultimate location
So I will give the reasoning behind say,a Gymnasium and/or highlight Museum.
A Library would need a raft of papers, many shelves with documents and books. The personal collections would be stored there, along with original notes and crewative jottings to delight and intrigue scholars.
Unfortunately, so many of those papers are compromised or are revealing of a bit more than the public should know (according to David Addington) that they have been classified or taken under seal by the FBI, so they aren't available. The book "My Pet Goat" was burned after the Moore movie came out so no one could claim that was actually read in the Florida school room during the 911 attacks.
The other famous book, The Stranger by Camus actually belonged to another WH EMPLOYEE WHO TOOK IT WITH HIM.
That leaves only the Bible which is footnoted and has all the secret numbers in it to telephone and bank accounts of the various ministers and advisors in it. For security reasons, it cannot be included in the Library either.
So a dilemma: do we put up an empty building, or design something else to remember the Greatest President of the 21st Century by?
