I am becoming increasingly annoyed at the onslaught of negative attack ads on my local channels.  I know this is a heated election and that Tom Reynolds is in peril but COME ON!    First there was this ad  in which reynolds apologized for not knowing what exactly was in those emails.  Then there was an ad from davis saying reynolds covered something up.  It's like watching a tennis match.  ANd it is just getting worse.

The i'm sorry ad was bad enough because it was on every five minutes.  But I had no way of knowing that that was just the beginning.  Now we have kicked it into high gear with a new run of attack ads that always start with Millionaire Jack Davis...

I am infuriated by this because this guy has a local business and he pays his employees well.  It makes me want to know how much Reynolds has because I can bet he aint hurting for money.  It harkens back to when kerry was running and repubs pegged him as a rich snob from massachusetts.  as if bush is one of us or something.

It's the whole attack ad thing.  The repubs are just drumming talking points out there that seem to be working.  Scaring voters into thinking that jack davis is going to raise taxes and is dangerous.  trying to say he isn't one of us.  he wants to destroy social security and raise our taxes.

What's my point, you are probably wondering.  Well, it's  the whole attack ad thing.  davis is doing it too.  And frankly, I don't know what to think about either one, but I am po'd that anyone can just say whatever they want in these ads.  They should be held to rules requiring them to be truthful in their ads.  They shouldn't be able to flat out lie.

OK.  I am done.  Sorry I don't have the eloquence in this that I should, but I have a headache and can't think straight right now.  I am just infuriated.  And I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how to find out just how much reynolds has because I bet he is a millionaire too.  and even if he isn't, it's not like he's living in the real world himself.  He doesn't suffer with raising the retirement age as they claim davis wants to do.  and he sure as hell doesn't have to live on social security.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

There was a blizzard and it knocked out telephones in a large portion of the CD. voters where Davis polled strongest last time were underpolled.

    1. Add up all the expenditures the GOP has made in this district this cycle.
    1. Look at the 2004 results of this race

Reynolds has already lost. The GOP has been forced to piss away thousands on this clown and for what? He's always going to be tainted and after the election when the real Foley details come out they are probably going to wish he would have resigned earlier.

Davis is doing exactly what he needs to do which is keep GOP money engaged in a race they shouldn't have to spend a dime on.

Hopefully people recognize what candidates like Davis, Busby, Leasch, Faucett, and others have done even if they end up coming up short.

which shows people saying they want a change.  we do need a change.  i hope you are right.  i think davis might be good for us.  i think perhaps it is a plus for someone to NOT be part of the 'establishment'.

        As opposed to Reynolds?

C'mon now, buck up, of course he's going to be good for you.  He's a Democrat, not a lying, thieving, sexual predator enabler.

Screw the ads, look at the people!

You're upset because they try to scare everybody?

Don't be scared.  There's nothing to fear from these monstrous failures.  Look at the top tier, bush cheney rummy gonzales hastert frist.

You can take any one of them in a gladitorial type affair, if you know what I mean, so the heck with them and their fearmongering.

Dems are kicking ass this time, so long as you vote.

will buy into the fear mongering.  my god@ mention raising taxes to folks who can barely get by as it is....   they believe what they are told by the republicans.  i'm not scared that davis will raise taxes.  i am afraid that the scare tactics will work.

Well, please put a little fear into your family about what the Repugs have done to this country. I don't have the time to pen that long list. It would keep me occupied full time until Christmas.

I haven't had one good night's sleep since BushCo stole the election in 2000.

And frankly, spending $2 billion/week on the war in Iraq scares me. We're borrowing it from countries that are going to want us to pay it back. How fiscally responsible is that?

            GOP=PARTY OF DEBT AND DEATH

      •  Reynold's pushed Foley to run again (0+ / 0-)

It's not being negative to repeat it, it's the truth.  Davis should pound Reynold's non-stop with this.

  •  The poll is worthless (1+ / 0-)

The pro-Davis parts of the district were without power while the poll was taken. SUSA is not reliable anyway, unless anyone really believes that Francine Busby is 3% away from winning CA-50.

  •  Head of NRCC stealing all the dough... (0+ / 0-)

With Reynolds in the fight of his life, who will he provide funds for in all the other tight races throughout the country?  I think this race is history for him and besides one final feel-good poll that will make him feel overconfident, Davis has little to worry about, even if his campaigning style is a little dull.

So, with the NRCC, err Reynolds, pouring all that congressional campaign dough into his own district, there's less to go around elsewhere, exactly when the D3C is kicking it into higher gear.  I knew when that worthless idiot hid behind those kids at his press conference, his election bid was over, and so was that for the majority of candidates he's supporting.

I mean, shielding himself with kids to avoid having to answer questions about whether he was protecting ..... basically..... kids.  ironic.

      •  I was disappointed that the shield worked since (0+ / 0-)

the reporters could have asked the necessary questions, even with children present.

All they had to do is mention words like predator, Pages, underage, unwanted advances, abuse of power, lack of oversight, etc.

No need to spell out the lewd details.
