I am becoming increasingly annoyed at the onslaught of negative attack ads on my local channels. I know this is a heated election and that Tom Reynolds is in peril but COME ON! First there was this
ad in which reynolds apologized for not knowing what exactly was in those emails. Then there was an ad from davis saying reynolds covered something up. It's like watching a tennis match. ANd it is just getting worse.
The
i'm sorry ad was bad enough because it was on every five minutes. But I had no way of knowing that that was just the beginning. Now we have kicked it into high gear with a new run of
attack ads that always start with
Millionaire Jack Davis...
I am infuriated by this because this guy has a local business and he pays his employees well. It makes me want to know how much Reynolds has because I can bet he aint hurting for money. It harkens back to when kerry was running and repubs pegged him as a rich snob from massachusetts. as if bush is one of us or something.
It's the whole attack ad thing. The repubs are just drumming talking points out there that seem to be working. Scaring voters into thinking that jack davis is going to raise taxes and is dangerous. trying to say he isn't one of us. he wants to destroy social security and raise our taxes.
What's my point, you are probably wondering. Well, it's the whole attack ad thing. davis is doing it too. And frankly, I don't know what to think about either one, but I am po'd that anyone can just say whatever they want in these ads. They should be held to rules requiring them to be truthful in their ads. They shouldn't be able to flat out lie.
OK. I am done. Sorry I don't have the eloquence in this that I should, but I have a headache and can't think straight right now. I am just infuriated. And I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how to find out just how much reynolds has because I bet he is a millionaire too. and even if he isn't, it's not like he's living in the real world himself. He doesn't suffer with raising the retirement age as they claim davis wants to do. and he sure as hell doesn't have to live on social security.
