This morning the Seattle Times endorsed Mike McGavick for Washington U.S. Senator.

It is no surprise, since Seattle Times is so obsessed with the repeal of the estate tax, that no ethical or moral principle would get in the way of doing anything they possibly can to ensure that "their candidates" achieve office. They claim that their endorsement is only partly due to the estate tax repeal possibility, but judging by their lobbying editorials this year, they definitely have their eye on that ball.
Anyway, I was mad, no PISSED and here's what I wrote this morning as a rebuttal to their crap. I'm posting it here, because it's highly unlikely that the "Times" will ever give audience to the dislike I have for them today.
My letter beneath the fold
I must say that the Seattle Times is at least consistent in their stupidity in endorsing candidates. Is your obsession with the estate tax (the "death tax," such a comical term) so important to you that you don't care about accountability surrounding the deaths of 2800 Americans and countless Iraqis in a war where the justification was based on lies? Is the smear on America's reputation for the next 100 years because of that war also unimportant to you? I'm sure you have no family fighting in Iraq. Well I do.
Yes, Mike McGavick talks a big talk, but if his party retains the senate, he'll just toe the party line, just as you want him to, just as "Independent Republicans" always do. Yes, they do their cute little kabuki dances (like McCain in the torture bill), but when it really matters, they'll walk lock step with their leaders (just as McCain eventually did). You'll get your repeal of the "death tax" while our country proceeds down the tubes. Of course, it doesn't matter to you. The wealthy only wants its power. And yes, you've already got your power to irresponsibly endorse candidates to do your own selfish bidding. You've abused your power.
The reason the estate tax exists is to help keep the wealthy from being too extreme. I think, Seattle Times, with your endorsement you have proved the reason for its existence.
Now I have to ask, Seattle Times, why do you hate America so much? Have you no ethics? Have you no shame?
I don't care if this letter is printed but I want my final words to go to whoever wrote the editorial today. Those words are: "You DISGUST me. You're supposed to be a newspaper, not a wing of the Republican party."
If I subscribed to their paper, I'd definitely quit my subscription as of today. Thanks for letting me vent.
