New poll out from New Bennett, Petts & Blumenthal has Hayworth at 47%, Mitchell 46% .. this comes from
http://www.azcongresswatch.com/... .
This is continuing good news as the well loved former Mayor of Tempe poll numbers have now shaved Hayworth's to within a point. The previous poll had Mitchell down 3 only about a week ago.
Since then Hayworth has eaten one foot, and working on the second. In a recent forum, where Hayworth didn't have a reason to show up, a couple on his behalf let a Jewish crowd of people know what a better Jew he is than they (he'd not, he's Baptist!) and how he feels about Jews. It has been well coved, and I refer you here for more info: http://www.dailykos.com/... .
So the blue wave in AZ grows! Mitchell is within a point of pulling ahead. Ellen Simon (D) in AZ-01 ahead of Rick Renzi (R) by 4 points .. she will only be pulling ahead as Renzi will be the next republican to self destruct. Full report here:

And Giffords (D) in AZ-08 continues to beat her republican opponent which the RNC gave up on the day after the AZ primary (or there abouts).
The three AZ Dem pick ups, plus the 2 that will be kept means 5 out of 8 seats will be blue come 2007. Good news for our govenor, Janet Napolitano who is sailing into her second term as well.
This leaves the senate race. Pederson (D) continues to play catch up on Kyl (R). Several polls in the last week seem to point Pederson is down only 6 or 7 points from Kyl. He's got some territory to catch up, that is certain, but with this huge Democratic groud swell, it might just be possible. Arizona has a good chance to be a sleeper victory!
