Update 2: Hmmm...he may not be sexy but Chris Bell is certainly hot & riding the momentum of a great debate: 400 people march for Chris Bell at the Capitol!

In this four person race for the Texas Governor's position, we know who's got all the sex appeal.
Um, no. It ain't Strayhorne.
Yeah, it's Kinky. Cuz he's funny. Cuz he's cool. Cuz he wears a crazy ass black ninja cowboy outfit and he's gonna stick it to tha Man!
YEAH! Tha muthaf'ing MAAAAAAN, biyatches! |
What. Ever. Kinky ain't cool and last I checked the most popular guy in school usually didn't do shit after graduating. Kinky admits he doesn't have a plan and doesn't even know how to find one if you rolled it up and beat his ego down with it.
Then on the other hand, you got
Chris Bell who worked the Governor's debate perfectly, answering question after question intelligently and coherently.
Chris Bell is responsible for initiating the ethics probe which helped eventually bring down Tom Delay. Folks, "Tha MAN" doesn't get any bigger in Texas than Tom Delay. So while Kinky talks about "bringing down tha man", Chis Bell
actually did it.
And yet so many Democrats are still in love with the sex appeal of Kinky and letting a good man in Chris Bell get away.
Democrats, how many times are you gonna go back to an abusive relationship before you realize the man or woman of your dreams has been your best friend all along?
Instead he chose to get defensive:
If they were offended, good! People are so afraid to offend people that they won't take any action. You're naive and politically correct. You shouldn't fall for this.
Get that? Instead of just saying "Yeah, I can understand why people were upset blah blah blah", Kinky dug his heals & got defensive.
Know what's that called? Stubborness. My way or the highway. Gee, where have I see that? Hmmm...Oh yeah! Stay the course! Yeah, Iraq really is going well with a stubborn guy in charge, huh?
Texas, you elected one comedian for President. Can you really afford to elect another one for Governor? It ain't funny when people are dying or unemplyed or struggling under a huge debt or trying to figure out what's the best way to finance their kids or just a single mom trying to make due.

What's Kinky gonna do when another Rita-like hurricane comes around and requires massive migrations?
We saw how Perry failed - and he's a career politician who is supposed to know what to do. And Perry still mucked it up!
What's Kinky gonna do? What's his great plan?
Friedman said he doesn't have such radical ideas for Texas -- yet. "Not until we find out more about it," he said.
He's going to "wing it." Gee, where else have I heard that? Oh, yeah! George Bush again!
What's "wingin it" cost us there? A chance to avoid 9/11 was missed by amateurs. They bungled the war against the Taliban & Al Qaeda. Bin Laden is still free. We went to war and lost thousands for their mistake and/or possibly lies. |
"Wingin it" with a bunch of amateurs has cost us our economy, our jobs, our rights, and lives. These guys were completely unprepared to govern and instead tried to rule.
Texas, can you really afford to trust your family's safety on a bunch of amateurs who have NO plan, NO ideas, and NO experience in governing?
Abusive Relaionship
If you were with someone who insulted you, insulted your friends and neighbors, expected you to laugh at all his jokes no matter how crass or rude, and told you "my way or the highway" - would you stay with him?
So how can you elect him as Governor?
Voting for Kinky IS voting for Tha Man!
Now to address the "Stick it to Tha Man" idea behind voting for Kinky. Let's face it. Kinky is not going to win. Period. Every poll - except his own (surprise) - has said he's not even close to Perry.
So, Democrats and Independents who vote for Kinky are basically going to help Rick Perry win the office.
Stop. I know you guys hate being being told we should vote "for the lesser of two evils" so I won't do that. I'm a pragmatist and understand sometimes you can't bury your head in the sand. Sometimes you gotta think of the overall good. But Chris Bell is not the lesser of anything and he's a damn good reform candidate (more below). If you are still thinking that, then you haven't heard Chris talk or his plans. I welcome you to find out more.
Rick "Good Hair" Perry is Tha Man in Texas. He became governor when his buddy and fellow spoiled brat became President and, like Bush, he has done NOTHING to earn his position. He's a rich spoiled middle-aged man who, to paraphrase the last REAL governor we had, was "born with a silver foot in his mouth."
Make no mistake about it. Rick Perry has gained the most from Kinky Friedman's campaign - even more than Kinky himself and, most definitely, more than the Democrats and Independents who have fallen for that sex appeal of Kinky.
And if you want to say there's no difference between the Republican Party & the Democratic Party - then buddy, you haven't been awake the past six years and you may as well go back to sleep. |
|
The Democratic Party is changing. We didn't elect Howard Dean as chairman, Obama as Senator, and Ned Lamont as a candidate by staying the same party of the past. Think about it. The man we thought was good enough to be Vice President in 2000 is no longer a Democrat and is running against our choice.
Are things perfect? Hell, no! But they are changing! How about instead trying to "stick it to Tha Man" - which will only elect Tha Man - how about we the People take our civic responsibilities seriously and elect a man who has and will actually change the system?
Chris Bell told the Democratic Party to go to hell
But Kinky is right on one thing: people have been too afraid to offend people to do something sometimes.
And it was Chris Bell who risked scorn and political fallout from his own leadership to watch out for the people.
And that's the man you keep turning your back on for the sexy hot thing that zipped by you in the red sports car?
Kinky Friedman's campaign slogan is "Why the Hell Not?"
Well, I'm here to tell ya you to ask WHY. Because your future and your family's safety and future depends on you finding out why.
Why would you pic a comedian over a sincere businessman who's understand what Texas business needs? Why would you vote Independent if the Democratic candidate has shown the most independence - including from his own party?
And just why are conservative papers so impressed with Chris Bell?
Chris Bell is getting endorsements after endorsements
Mr. Bell, the true outsider, is a Houston attorney and former congressman. He can be credited with starting the fall of Tom DeLay, the Houston-area congressman who was behind the mid-decade congressional redistricting that led to our current gerrymandered district and pitted two sitting congressman against each other. Like Mrs. Strayhorn, Mr. Bell champions the causes of children, raising the minimum wage and bringing more diversity to governance. In discussion of any number of subjects, he returns to the phrase ''real solutions and common ground,'' an indication of his style: thoughtful, focused and cognizant of the need for true bipartisan leadership.
Please, please, PLEASE people: WAKE UP.
No, Chris Bell is NOT SEXY. I know his wife may disagree - sorry, ma'am. But maybe we've had a little too much excitement these past six years. Maybe we do need somebody who's just a solid guy who knows his stuff, has the experience as a businessman and public servant to do it competently and just flat does his job no matter who's looking.
Maybe it's time we got excited about Chris Bell?
Tomorrow more on Bell - because I know what yer saying: all ya said was Kinky's bad. How about something good about Bell?
| Ok, I will tomorrow - but how about you do your civic duty and go find it yourself, huh? Is it too much to ask that voters inform themselves? To punch in a few letters on the Internet?
You got your homework. Please, folks. This is just too important to make a joke of.
There is only one true Independent and Reform Candidate - and of all things, he's with the Democratic Party.
Yeah, I'm as shocked as y'all - but it's true. Take a good look at Chris Bell - he's worth it. And, yeah, he's looking better and better every day. |
