No matter what, we can not set a timetable on democracy. George Washington wouldn't have set a timetable; Abe Lincoln wouldn't have done it; and I won't- say what?

Early today, in a surprising statement by the administration, we have been given the news that we are no longer going to do what it takes, however long it takes, to get the job done. Apparently, our patience, and the patience of democracy is growing thin.
This goes directly against old administration policy. http://www.whitehouse.gov/...
So, not only are we not staying the course, now we're taking a play out of John Kerry's playbook, and flip-flopping on the subject?*
For the media not to pick up on this, and run with it demonstrates exactly what many have already been touting: for all the talk of liberal bias, there is an underlying premise that this administration is off limits. With the exception of the likes of Keith "where's my sandwich" Olbermann, commentators are quick to blame everyone but the administration, or denounce those that do as traitorous.
When we see a duck, we need to call it a duck. We cannot go around waiting for an independant council to determine whether or not it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, looks like a duck, and smells like a duck. We also cannot go squabling about when a duck "is" a duck, and when it isn't. Only so many duck authorities and books about those in the duck's inner circle can possibly be written, until it becomes ludicrous in nature.
As an veteran, I cannot stand by when on one hand he can say "by being there, we are honoring the men and women who have given their lives in the defense of freedom," and then hear him say "our patience is growing thin." Political posturing is one thing, invoking the names of my fallen bretheren is entirely another.
*I have the utmost respect for John Kerry. I voted for him in the last election. This was snark at it's less-than-finest.
