Like name calling children who don't get their way, or angry poop throwing monkeys who want their banana, the Republicans up the attack ads.
The National Republican Campaign Committee is spending over 90 percent of its ad budget on negative attack ads for the mid-terms. Apparently when issues fail, and you look like you're going to get your ass kicked, it's time to get out the poop.
First up, absurd?
New York: NRCC runs ad accusing Democratic House candidate Arcuri of using $1.25 taxpayer dollars for phone nooky. Apparently one of Arcuri's aids misdialed in an attempt to reach the state Division of Criminal Justice which was called in the next minute. The sex line number? 800-457-8462 The DCJ Number? 518-457-8462. This didn't discourage NRCC slimeballs to run an ad showing Arcuri leering at the silhouette of a nekked woman as she purrs "Hi, sexy. You've reached the live, one-on-one fantasy line." Arcuri's opponent, state Sen. Ray Meier, distanced himself from the attack ad saying it was "way over the line." Meanwhile the NRCC spokesman looks straight into the camera and snickers "It's totally true". Liar.
Racist?
An ad put up by a Republican PAC backed by J. Patrick Rooney says Democrats want to abort black babies. The voice over says, "If you make a little mistake with one of your hos, you'll want to dispose of that problem tout de suite, no questions asked."
Of course we also have the ad that's been plastered all over the airwaves put up by the RNC, attacking Harold Ford Jr. in Tennessee for attending a Playboy sponsored SuperBowl party. ::Gasp!:: The scandal! Then the ad makes an attempt to inflame racial hostility by showing a scantily clad white actress talking about "good times" with Ford, who is black, then winks and does the "call me" sign.
Personal attacks?
Missouri Senator Jim Talent ad: "I think Claire McCaskill is a liar. ... Claire McCaskill will do whatever it takes to get elected. She'll lie and she'll cheat." Talent backed away from the attack later saying, that he was tired of being attacked and suggested that the negative ad, approved by him was in response to attack ads by McCaskill. An examination of McCaskill ads revealed no personal attack ads.
The smear ads actually are a good sign. It's the indicator that Republicans can't run on the issues. Their report card sucks. The attack ads are a last ditch attempt against their own overwhelming incompetence and corruption in governing. People are sick of the financial irresponsible, internationally bumbling, rubber stamping, corrupt, hypocritical, do-nothing Republicans. The recent flurry of Republican hit ads show that not only they know it, they're desperate to talk about anything but their own pathetic performance for the last six years. The more Republicans suck at their jobs the more shrill and pathetic their attacks are.
Of course wing-nuts always use smearing and personal attack as a tactic. They can't help themselves, it's part of their nature. It's not about the poop but the level of poop. When they start throwing the most poop is when you know you're winning.
