I'm against the war, have been since the beginning. I'm a dedicated Howard Dean liberal and proud of it. But, while earlier expressing support for her I have always been a bit leery of Cindy Sheehan. [More Inside]
I loved that she was tweaking Bush but lets face it: having your son die does not necessarily qualify your position one way or the other (there are -- of course -- many, many mothers of dead soldiers who support the war... which doesn't make their position right). Plus, she was always just enjoying all the attention a bit too much. When the right wing called her a "media whore" I objected profusely but secretly sort of knew what they meant.
Then she started injecting herself in the Israel-Palestine issue and she started to lose me.
NOW, she's down in Venezuela making nice with that despot Hugo Chavez?! Sorry, but being a liberal does not make me an enemy of the United States, in fact just the opposite. And that means that just because Chavez is the enemy of my enemy (George Bush) that does NOT make him my friend.
He is a despot and an enemy of democracy. Her support of Chavez and her willingness to get involved there is an embarrassment and I want nothing more to do with her.
Here's her latest distracting sillyness:
