This doesn't make sense, does it?
Iraq war veteran & straight shooter faces off against aged Princess Leah hairstyle sporting/Cruella Deville clone wannbe complete with broomstick on the day Coalition losses hit 2,000?
You know, my hat is way off to Hackett & to everyone who helped. I think getting him on The Daily Show within the last three weeks could have made a difference. Close shave/point shave close? Probably- take your pick, or lose a few hundred votes here & there.
And I also blame- Yes, I blame- tah dah! KerryEdwards for not sticking up the voters in Ohio (and other places) in 04. Ya think 7,000 of them just gave up-didn't feel like standing in line for what, ten hours today on this oh so darn humid! day- or whatever the ultimate number is? You give business as usual, you get business as usual.
Look what wonderful results Hackett generated because people were vested!!
And again, there is no result here which is demonstrably trustworthy. Is voting a faith-based initiative now or what?! Sorry about all the tinfoil- but.
What's the matter with Kansas? What's the matter with Ohio??
Blackwell is unmitigated filth in terms of corruption-everyone knows this. Hell, I think he even knows it.
-----
other than all that, I agree that examining this race will yield a lot of good for our side
I just don't understand how some people can think bush et al are all corrupt, lying, indecent scumbags with no regard for the country or for fair play ---and then simultaneously defend their buddies in the election company business as just a bunch of nice, normal biznessfolk who can do no wrong. It's like the Harper's AUG. cover with the three monkeys....
And lest we should doubt the integrity of a a couple of these cronies, felons and republican supporters counting our votes...well, then-- it's- 'What's wrong with YOU??" And you even feel compelled to apologize for the tin foil hat?!?!?!
I'm afraid there's something wrong with you if you still cling to the naive notion that Tom Swidarski, Urosevich, Wally O'Dell, Jeff Dean, John Elders, Todd Rapp, and so on are somehow swell guys we can vest our trust in, who play by the rules, even though they are vacationing at the Crawford Ranch and kissing bush's royal *ss and a handful have served prison time.
Oh, and I forgot to ask to be pardoned for wearing a T I N F O I L H A T...
I don't even have a tin foil hat anymore, I have a full suit of armour!
Let's see: place burden of proof on minority party, rig elections so minority party stays minority party, pay off officials and corporations...circle them all in a web of lies and illusions stamped with state approval so that they know if they hang, they'll ALL hang by the same rope...
"Smithers! These sponges have corners!!!!"
They're gonna "bury" Paul Hackett?
Heeeere we go again with the rightwing agitprop: "It's Only In Your Head"
Let the psych ops begin...
Rush on Hackett: Team Hackett Lays Ground Work to Whine "Voter Fraud" if He Loses
August 2, 2005
RUSH: By the way, folks, another great example here that when I make a joke about liberal Democrats, it actually comes true. What did I say about one hour ago, Mr. Snerdley, when talking about the turnout in this election in Ohio being 20%? That was what the forecast was. I said, "It's going to be kind of hard to claim voter fraud," right?
"The Paul Hackett campaign is worried about election fraud." This is from the July 24th Hamilton Journal News. Now, I just now saw this. "It is a sad and depressing commentary on the state of our democracy that David Woodruff, campaign manager for candidate Paul Hackett, is worried sick about obtaining an honest, accurate vote count. Woodruff is convinced a scrupulously accurate vote count will give his candidate a majority in the balloting and send him to Congress." This is from OhioHonestElections.org but it actually comes from the July 24 Hamilton Journal News, a story written by Bill Rentschler -- and, by the way, they're already setting up voter fraud possibilities in Ohio. Once again, they don't trust you, the voters. They don't want to trust you, the voters. If he doesn't win the election they're going to charge vote fraud; they're going to demand a recount or what have you. Combine that with a totally dishonest, deceitful campaign -- combine that with another liberal hiding behind the military uniform, combine that with not having the guts to be honest about your party affiliation or your ideology trying to win an election -- folks, these people are the on the run like I have never seen them on the run.

Hello! This is a classic move: 1. innoculate the public with a teeny piece of the truth (mention the possibility of vote fraud) 2. Make outrageous claims using the psychological phenonmenon of projection (Who's the fucking chickenhawk here, eh????!!) 3. Deny, divide, deny, divide.

And the first rule of contesting an election?
"DON'T CONCEDE."
