The associated press reported today that President Bush would be making a stop in Topeka to stump for Jim Ryun in his race against Democrat Nancy Boyda.
Just as Kos said, the latest ad buy from the DCCC has made the Republicans scramble to shore up even the races that seemed to be safe.
As the article reported in the Wichita Eagle, it seems to be clear that Ryun might not be in the best shape in the entire world when it comes to the election less then a week from now.
Just as Kansans might be seeing the light we see this quote from the Ryun Campaign:
"If he were coming here, we would be ecstatic," Ryun campaign manager Jeffrey Black said Tuesday. "We've never tried to distance ourselves from President Bush."
It should be interesting to see what happens with this appearance. Remember just a couple of weeks at VP Dick Cheney came to Topeka to also stump for Jim Ryun.
Amazing what a couple of years can do to such a race. Nancy has a great chance to win and clearly with the attention this race is getting from the Republican Party it seems like they are shoring up another dam that could break in their faces come November 7th.
Give her some love!
