Lamont is going to beat Lieberman, possibly in a rout. But while I think Lieberman's support will then drop, Lamont will need to focus on a different electorate.
In my view, Lamont will need to reintroduce himself to the CT electorate. He should run ads about his biography and positions. If Joe stays in, some of the message should focus on him - if only by saying that it's time to come together as citizens of CT - implying that Lieberman is the divisive one.
Election night is a key moment and opportunity for Lamont. He should congratulate Lieberman for his many years of service and then firmly say that it's time to move forward. Sounding gracious in victory and laying out some ideas will go a long way to winning CT independents, who probably don't know much about Lamont except that he challenged and defeated Joe.
What do you think? If Lamont wins, what should he do?
