A new internet phenomenon (or "meme" for the pretentious) involves the forthcoming Samuel L. Jackson film called, yes, "Snakes on a Plane". If you need to ask what it's about, you're probably visiting from Red State.
It's about snakes.
On a plane.
And Democrats need to use this type of strategy in the upcoming election cycles.
How?
When a Republican obfuscates, handles the truth in a creative manner, interprets facts from a biased perspective, understands reality in a unique way or is otherwise mendacious, Democrats should Snakesonaplane them: say they lied.
When a Republican takes money from suspect sources, allows partisan hacks into the briefing room, gives favours to friends and accepts bribes for personal gain, Democrats should Snakesonaplane them: say they're corrupt.
When a Republican blurs the line between church and state so much that you can't see state any more, allows the government to spy on its own citizens, perverts Christian ideals to their own un-Christian ends and spends the country into years more of debt, Democrats should Snakesonaplane them: say they're unfit to govern and un-American.
Snakes on a Plane is sweeping the internet sounds like an awesome film, because you know exactly what to expect: there will be snakes. They will be on a plane. (And, there will be Samuel L. Jackson. I mean, come on!)
He knows what he's doing: the studio wanted to change the title to the more mealy, "Pacific Air Flight 121". Jackson refused.
Democrats should refuse too. They should take the "Snakes on a Plane" approach, so Americans know what to expect: honest, clean, American government.
