I told them we shouldn't do it...we should let Cheney come here and lie about Jay Fawcett, the
Fighting Dem Vet candidate in Colorado's Fighting Fifth district.
I told them we should let "Shooter" threaten to shoot us in the face, accuse of us treason and wanting to raise taxes (Jeez, I don't know which is worse to them), and then whip out the old Vice-Presidential waterboard. But Jay said he would waterboard me if I didn't print this!
How's that for being tough on terrorists Democrats?
We know Dick and the boys don't like to read a lot of stuff, especially if doesn't fit their world view. But I hope "Shooter" has the time to read this thoughtful statement from our next congressman from beautiful CD-5, Lt. Col. Jay Fawcett:
We welcome Vice President Cheney to Colorado Springs and salute his service to our country. Unfortunately, he is stumping for the wrong candidate.
Doug Lamborn has no military experience and no plan for Iraq. He is unqualified to provide the leadership on military and....
oh man, here we...gurgle....gurgle...gurgle....go!!!!
Maybe Doug should read the rest to Dick before he goes beddy-bye in his nice, warm, Broadmoor bed. Lord knows Doug's going to have a tough time finding work after November 7:
[Doug Lamborn] is unqualified to provide the leadership on military veterans issues that we need in the 5th District, and he has proven time and again that he falls far short of the ethical leadership that Congressman Joel Hefley has provided. Doug Lamborn is a professional politician and offers more of the same element that Hefley spent his career fighting - more scandals, more corruption, more rubber stamping of political agendas, and less representation of the people's needs. The 5th District deserves better.
As Congressman, I will stand up for what's right for families and seniors in our district, and for the defense of our nation. I will be an independent voice in Congress, providing tough, thoughtful leadership that puts what's best for Colorado and the country ahead of what's best for a political party. I will solve problems and take care of the important issues our citizens face.
Unlike my opponent, I served in the military; I am a 20-year veteran of the Air Force in a district that has the fourth largest concentration of veterans in the United States and I have worked or served on all five of the district's military bases. At a time when the number of veterans in Congress is critically low, we need more men and women with military experience asking the tough questions on military issues, guiding defense policy and ensuring that our veterans receive the support they deserve.
I will also strive to meet the standards that Joel Hefley embodied in his 20-year Congressional career. As Chairman of the House Ethics Committee, Mr. Hefley stood up to Tom DeLay and other corrupt elements in Washington, D.C. Mr. Hefley has said he will not endorse my opponent - or vote for him - because he has run a sleazy and dishonest campaign.
Signed, Jay Fawcett, Candidate for Congress
Here comes the waterboard again..........ARRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!
