I, however, agree with the
numerous retired Generals, those that served under Rumsfeld like
General Charles Swannack, former commander of the elite 82nd Airborne Division, the
Army Times, the majority of it's
military readers and most of the
military families I speak to in and around Ft. Bragg, that Rumsfeld
needs to go.
And that's probably why I'm about to take Fayetteville, win Cumberland County, win the 8th District and take back our seat in the People's House on Tuesday.
"Voter Discontent Makes Kissell Contender Against Hayes"
You know, the North Carolina Democratic Party asked an interesting question the other day.
Does Hayes Still Think Rumsfeld is Doing `A Fabulous Job'?
North Carolinians Want Accountability on War, Not Politics as Usual
Raleigh--As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, Robin Hayes has repeatedly missed the opportunity to question Donald Rumsfeld's bungled handling of Iraq.
Instead, Hayes has stayed silent about the mismanagement of the war. The Chairman of that Committee has expressed his "strong support" for Rumsfeld. [House Armed Services Committee release, 4/18/2006]
Robin Hayes has even said Rumsfeld is doing a "fabulous job." [Department of Defense transcript, 9/10/2004]
I bet he does. Hope some of the press ask him that question on Monday when the Army Times editorial hits as he campaigns here with Elizabeth Dole. Talk about staying the course.
The fact is, just as the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America have said, the troops deserve better.
And just like this radio spot playing heavily in Fayetteville says, Robin Hayes votes against our troops when it matters most.
Guys, I'm telling you... we're going to win this, fix this mess and take our country back. You've done a great job getting the word out about our campaign, putting and keeping me on the air, and now in this final push, I need one more thing to make this happen.
I've got to feed these armies of boots on the ground I've got all over the district. It's adding up fast. We've got teams of 60, 80, 100 all over in every county. And since as you well know, we've been putting everything that comes in on TV and radio the next day, I need help now keeping the ground troops mobilized.
My people have instructed the wonderful folks at ActBlue to cut checks daily and overnight it in, so I can send it out. It's helping tremendously. I just wanted you to know, it is not too late to give.
Please do all you can. We are.
