Dear Neighbor,
The election is finally here. I know we are bombarded with election messages. Please allow me to share my opinion about an important local race here in our district.
Do you know the name of our Congressman here in the 28th District? No? Allow me to introduce you, to Howard Berman. Howard voted for the War in Iraq. Howard Berman is a 12-term incumbent who hasn't had a town hall meeting in his district for 6 years. His views about the War do not reflect our district. Howard pretends he is a Democrat but on the most important issue in the beginning our new century he has been wrong. Howard Berman is a Pro War Democrat like Joe Lieberman in Connecticut.
You can't pretend you are for the environment when you vote for the war. The Pentagon is the world's biggest polluter. The biggest consumer of petroleum products in the world. You can't pretend you are for Human rights when you support a War built on lies that has killed between 30,000 and 600,000 civilians. I don't believe you can say you're for Women's rights when your critical votes support a policy that allows Fundamentalist Regimes to prosper in the Middle East. Allows Iraq to slip into Civil War with our soldiers trapped in the middle. Even the Taliban are returning in Afghanistan.
The other day when I was driving home listening to the radio President Bush, vowed to keep Donald Rumsfield as Secretary of Defense. Isn't the classic definition of insanity, to keep doing the same thing over and over again and getting the same negative results? This is what we have been doing now. If Bush won't change and Berman won't change, it's up to us to make a change, now. Byron DeLear the Green Party Candidate is the clear choice for change. Once elected Byron has pledged to caucus with the DEMS to turn the HOUSE BLUE just as Senator Jim Jeffords did when elected as an Independent in 2000. He is the clear choice if you are concerned about freedom, democracy and our foreign policy. Help us make the change.
Your Neighbor, Respectfully Submitted,
In the 28 district
