I love politics. Don't get me wrong, it's full of annoying people. Don't get me started on the ignorant news media either. But I've got to get something important off my chest. These past few months have made me excited again about the political process. It's not just that my side has a good chance at winning this time around either. It's that we've really begun to FIGHT BACK.
That's what this is all about. Not the polls. Definitely not the horserace. It's that a group of like minded people have stood up and said that we will be heard and we will be counted. It's that we've fielded candidates that I can support and believe in. It's that no matter how good or bad it gets, this group will continue to fight for what is right.
Right now, winning is all about beating the bullies. That right. I said it. Republicans are bullies. They are the worst kind of bullies too. They beat up on people who can't fight back and they try to scare the rest of us into kissing their ass so we won't get beat up too. And the before this year, so many democrats let them be the bully. So many people enabled their hateful tactics.
But I've watched with glee as they threw every silly attack line they could muster at us. I don't know if they will succeed or fail, but this is the watershed moment. Their side has nothing left to throw. The bully has unleashed his best shot. And we're still standing. We're still fighting. How can we fear them when their shots don't even hurt? They're not even trying to play by the rules right now. They're fighting like cornered animals.
Today's REPUBLICAN party is a nasty, disgusting beast. A wounded animal. But I'm not scared of them. And I think they might be scared of us right now.
