Anyone else noticing the amount of credit that is being heaped on Rahm Emanuel for last night's victory? Meanwhile, not ONE major liberal blog has yet to raise a big toast to Howard Dean.
Every article I've read so far (no matter if the source is left, right or center), has been crediting Rahm and Chuck Schumer. From Salon:
The architects of Democratic victory, Rep. Rahm Emanuel and Sen. Chuck Schumer, had primed the hotel ballroom crowd of about 1,000. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid had hailed the "wind of change" that has brought Democratic control to the House and the edge of a majority to the Senate.
"Wind of change"? The same wind of change that refused to back the duely Democratic candidate of Connecticut? The same wind of change that refused to speak with Dean because he didn't want to run the same old safe state, swing state race? Give me a fucking break.
We need to beat back this meme hard and fast. The leadership in DC wants to take sole credit for this victory, but the credit for our win doesn't really belong to any one person. It belongs to everyone in all the states who busted their ass to make this happen-it was a team effort. But that team effort couldn't have happened without the 50 state strategy, so if ANYONE should be crowned as the architect of this victory, it sure as hell wasn't Rahm & Chuck.
So say it loud, say it proud THANK YOU HOWARD DEAN!
