We, amongst many people, owe just a modicum of gratitude to our DNC chairman, Dr. Howard Dean. Follow me after the flip for the love fest.
Thank you Howard, for speaking out against complacent democrats and the war in Iraq before it was "prudent" or popular to do so.
Thank you Howard, for running for president and inspiring an entire new wave of democrats (myself included!) to swell the ranks of the democratic party and fight for the future of our proud country.
Thank you Howard, for unwittingly giving us our battle cry for this and all future elections when the media decided it was safer for them to destroy your candidacy than to allow the democratic process to continue unfettered. <YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAARRRRRGHHHH!!!!>
Thank you Howard, for dusting yourself off, standing up, and running for DNC chair, even when Harry, Nancy, and Billary tried their best to block you from getting the job. Thank you for winning!
Thank you Howard, for instituting the 50 state strategy and spending money to build our party in areas long neglected by Rahm and Chuck, no matter how much they bitched at you in the public eye. Thank you for not backing down.
Thank you Howard, for inspiring grassroots candidates to run for office, WIN THEIR SEATS, and become the next generation of American leaders.
Thank you Howard, for showing the DC cocktail circuit that a 50 state strategy yields new Democratic seats in blood red Kentucky, Indiana, Nebraska, Idaho et al, (even if they only came very close this time around), in a matter of TWO FRICKIN YEARS!!!!
Thank you Howard, for putting Tweety, Timmeh, Leslie Wolf, Katie, and all those other bums right back in their chairs where they belong.
Thank you Howard, for changing the political dynamic in this country, and helping us to crash the gate.
And finally, Thank you Howard, for allowing me to feel secure, ecstatic, and chill, despite the fact that I didn't do ANY of my law school reading last night or this morning.
Sincerely,
Graff4Dean (And the grassroots)
