The Next Agenda is a Kos style blog that focuses on Canadian progressive politics. We have some excellent writers and great diaries. And best of all, they don't scroll away madly!
Among our members, paul2port has been nominated for his poignant diary on Terry Fox.
14 July 1980 was the day I met Terry Fox. We were about the same height. He was a bit taller and wider across the shoulders. He didn't have a classical runner's build. We were wearing the same shoes. We aspired to the same career. He was sunburned and freckled, friendly and tired. After giving a brief talk at the dinner held in his honour at the Royal Connaught Hotel he excused himself saying "I've got a big day ahead".

He had been running since April. A marathon a day, sixty-six marathons in about 90 days. After cancer. With one leg. Wow! I was in awe. I didn't have anything to offer but encouragement. I shook his hand.
It's listed under "Best Blog Post", look for The Next Agenda:Terry Fox.
