Sy Hersh was on CNN this morning, discussing his new article in The New Yorker.
There are two key things in his upcoming New Yorker piece:
-- The CIA admits that Iran has no plans to make nuclear bombs. (They want to have nuclear power, but they don't need hyper-enriched uranium, such as what goes into warheads, for that.)
-- Bush wants to attack Iran, and Cheney said one week before the US midterm elections that Bush will do so even if the Democrats win.
Note well: The USS Eisenhower armada left for the Persian Gulf on October 1st and has been there now for three weeks.
UPDATE: I'm trying to update the diary to mention this, but the new diary code is blowing up, so the URLs are going to be garbled:
In January of 2005 and April of 2005, Hersh stated flat-out that Bush and Cheney want to attack Iran. So to those accusing me of spinning Hersh's words: You obviously haven't been following Hersh's writings, have you?
