Daily Kos is 4 years old. That is like 40 years old in Blog Time. We have been around long enough to affect the political environment in spectactular ways. At the same time, a wonderous and ever evolving community has emerged. Speaking for myself, I have become friends with people I probably would have never met otherwise.
Today, as Daily Kos was going through yet another growing pain and a still yet not to be deciphered dog vomit diary attack that will undoubtedly enter the lore of Daily Kos, I want to explore that lore.
What are your favorite and memorable moments in Daily Kos history?
I have been here since 2003 as both Delaware Dean and Delaware Dem, so I think I have experienced most of said moments. I remember the transfer to Scoop, but was still naive enough not to register right away for one of those coveted low hundreds UIDs. I remember the first Clark-Dean flame war. I remember the horrid Gephardt-Dean flamewars in the runup to the Iowa caucus. I remember Theoria. I remember the first SYFPH diary after Kerry clinched the nomination and Dean supporters were raving mad.
I remember Daily Kos at the DNC. I remember the Pie Wars. I remember Theoria Lives. I remember the 3 rating. I remember Maryscott O'Connor. I remember Meteor Blades. I remember the first Cheers N Jeers. I found community and friends there and in new diary series, 'WYFP' and 'Happy Story.' I remember the Pope Wars. I laughed at ErinF. I hated GenF. I was puzzled at Buffy. I took part in the Troll Wars. I didn't care about the Chevron ads. I watch from afar the happenings of Yearly Kos. I took part in a congressional campaign (for me, Patrick Murphy in PA-08). I killed SYFPH last week. And I despaired at the outing of Armando.
