Update: So it turns out the DCCC saw this blog... and now they wanted to talk! Haven't had a chance to get back to them... but I'll let you know what I hear.

Hi everyone, I don't post often but I thought I would relate this mornings occurence to you all.
Just after the election I wrote the DCCC to tell them that I appreciated what they did, but hated how Rahm stabbing at Dean. I told them I wouldn't be donating, and would simply support individual candidates. As many of you know, you have to give them contact info to send an email. This was enough to set them on my trail.
They've been calling me for the past week and I've been putting them off ( a lot of bad events occuring, plus thanksgiving stress). I figured they just wanted to respond to my email comments. I was naive.
So today I answered the phone and let them say their piece, here is a reasonable transcript.
DCCC: Hello sir, as you know the DCCC led the democrats to a great victory in the past elections, and as you also know the republicans are quickly trying to regroup and undo all our good work. We must work hard to insure that this doesn't happen. Can I count on you to achieve donor status for the modest donation of 110$.
Me: Wow, I'm sorry I appreciate what you guys do but Ive hit some rough financial times, perhaps I can donate in a few months.
DCCC: Sir, we cannot under estimate the republicans trying to take back our hard fought gains. How about something less, like 100$.
Me: I really am in a tough spot and have no money.
DCCC: Surely sir you can manage 50$.
Me: (Getting frustrated) No, I cannot, perhaps in a couple months when things settle down. I have nothing to give.
DCCC: Well sir, how about something more modest like 10$. I am sure you can manage that.
Me: (Close to swearing) No, I can't. I know your website, when I have some money I will consider donating on it. Please take me off your list.
DCCC: Sir, Im sure you can manage 10$. Why don't I put you down for that, invoice it and send it to you. (the bill me later donation option)
Me: (Thouroughly mad) No, this is not the way you'll be seeing my money. Have a good day. (Hangs up).

This was the most high pressure political call Ive ever gotten. It made me quite pissed off... and you can be sure the DCCC is much less likely to get anything from me. Not that that was going to happen before.
Anyone else experience this? It doesn't seem like the best way to motivate your base, thrashing them for money...
Thoughts!?
