The latest post on the
Dean blog has the following quote in it:
That's right. The choice is clear. George Bush stuck $300 in the front pockets of working Americans and then grabbed $500 or more from our back pockets, and hoped we wouldn't notice. But our tuition went up, our property taxes went up, and our local sales tax went up to help pay the Bush Tax.
In the
Iowa debate thread last Sunday, Damon said:
Dean just needs some help in framing his issues. Don't say that there was no middle class tax cut. Say that the Bush administration stuck $300 dollars in your front pocket while taking $500 dollars or more out of your back pocket and hoped you wouldn't notice."
I don't know if Damen was the first to come up with that line, but that's the first place I saw it. I remember posting that exact quote to the Dean blog and hoping the campaign would pick up on it. Looks like they're listening.
(That was Damon's line. I'm glad they're paying attention. It's an awesome line. Now let's see if it makes it into Dean's stump speech. -- kos)
