Bush ANG Doc Outrage! Watch Hannity TONIGHT 9pm EST
Howdy all, remember that thorny issue of allegedly forged Texas Air National Guard reviews? Some journalist, whatshisname, was humiliated and trashed in the press? Do you know how CBS obtained Dubya's records? If you answered yes or no to any of these, then watch tonight.
Certain conservative bloggers, who I won't link to here, have been trashing Congressman Maurice Hinchey (D-NY) for his statements over the weekend about what happened to the story and who was behind the documents in the first place. Hinchey mentioned Karl Rove's name, and now he's being branded as a liberal conspiracy theorist.
Congressman Hinchey will be on Hannity TONIGHT at 9pm EST on Fox News to discuss what he thinks could be a case of media manipulation. Dan Rather and 3 producers lost their reputations and their jobs (Rather's retirement, entirely coincidence, sure, right) because of this story, but no one can conclusively say if the docs are real or not, and now Maurice is getting slammed for asking why? This is outrageous!
Hinchey brings up a good point; we still don't know. The question of authenticity was never answered, and CBS was forced to decide they were fake until proven real. How many times has a news organization done so much backpedaling even when they ran an obviously fake story, not one that was so contested? If asking questions about who is toying with the careers of America's preeminent journalists is too scary for the right wing, how long until asking ANY question is a bad idea?
