You know, I saw
this article by Nedra Pickler on Kerry and thought, great, wonder how she worked him over this time. But it's a pretty soft piece for Kerry; he gets in a few jokes and comes off as a regular guy.
She does address the fact that Kerry's Catholic. The thing they always said about Kennedy was, is he taking orders from Rome? Kerry gets a pretty good line that will probably draw a response of some sort from the Vatican, I imagine:
"I don't tell church officials what to do, and church officials shouldn't tell American politicians what to do in the context of our public life," Kerry said in an interview with Time posted on the magazine's Web site Sunday.
Anyway, it's a short article that manages not to have the "But Kerry failed to mention...." construction that Atrios made famous. Pretty fluffy piece, actually.
