So this is it. We all hit the polls tomorrow, hopefully we've managed to educate a few voters along the way. This has, for the most part, been incredibly successful, with no response of note from the right while getting coverage from Hardball, CNN, and the New York Times twice, including
today (hat tip
Sprinkles). It's been amazing to see this level of specific coordination and cooperation from the diaspora of Dem blogs, made all the more impressive because we pretty much did this on the fly.
We've learned quite a bit about how to choose effective articles, both in terms of proving our point and getting them to the top. We learned that (unsurprisingly) the arguments of our opponents weren't particularly impressive. And most importantly, we got a taste of what the netroots can do with a bit of organization. This project is just a drop in the bucket, but imagine what happens in 2008 when we're ready ahead of time to roll out this and a dozen other projects. We take the world by storm, yet again. I know that I've been particularly proud every time I've had the chance to explain the project to people, and particularly to explain why it's so important. I've never once gotten a negative reaction, and almost always found people to be desperately excited that someone is finally fighting back hard. So keep your heads down and work hard through the finish line, and good luck to everyone tomorrow.
You can track the Googlebomb project here, and as always, tell me if you find different results.
