So yesterday I went to the MCV Gym here in RIchmond, VA and lo and behold I see a very tall man (I am 6'2 myself) surrounded by bodyguards. He seemed familiar and then he turned his face directly to me...Mark Warner, outgoing governor of our state. I shook his hand, said I voted for him and good luck on his presidential bid. He said thanks. Is this a declaration of his intent to run? Has he come out publicly? If not, I would say this a very strong sign that he is.
This guy transformed VA into a state with a vibrant economy. Richmond just out bid New York City for a fancy skyrise apartment shopping center complex. Everywhere I look there is some development going on. He took this state from deficits and crap that republicans do and completely turned around this state, so much so that conservative virginians decided to give his liberal apprentice a shot at governorship (tim kaine). Mark Warner, I believe is the one people at dailkos should take a look at. I was a fervent Dean supporter because of his success as governor of vermont, not his stance on the war. Warner reminds me a lot of Dean and the plus he is extremely popular in a conservative state that could be brought home to the dems in 08'. This is something John Edwards couldn't do and something hillary definetley won't be able to do. The only thing with him is that he doesn't come across as friendly as Dean, ubt a lot more affable than the wooden kerry or the insincere appearing trial lawyer edwards or the cold hillary.
Warner/Clark anybody?
