VOTE TODAY - Important Run-off election!
Please take a few minutes TODAY, December 5th, to vote in the Runoff Election for Public Service Commission between the last remaining Democrat on the Public Service Commission, David Burgess (Incumbent), and Republican challenger and candidate of special interests Chuck Eaton.
Commissioner Burgess is a widely admired Democrat who was first appointed by Governor Roy Barnes to fill a vacant Commission seat and is the first African-American to serve on the vital utility board. He needs your vote to prevail on December 5th. For more info on David Burgess go here. He received the most votes on Nov 7, but the presence of the Libertarian candidate kept him under 50%+1 needed to avoid a run-off. Run-offs are very low-turnout affairs, and your vote will be crucial to keeping this seat in Democratic hands.
Georgians have felt the pain of spiked natural gas and electric prices, and without the voice of Democrats, we will hand over the Public Service Commission to big business, be it the natural gas, power, or telecommunications industries. We cannot have the GOP with unfettered control over our common utilities, so please remember to vote!!
