I'm not going to waste time talking about his positions: you know what they are. They happen to be the same things many of you profess to support (when you're not bashing the man that is). Unlike the other candidates, he walks it like he talks it.
Politics is not rocket science - if you need proof of that, take a look at some of the fools currently in office. QED.
So here it is: whoever the Dem candidate is he is: a) NOT going to get any Republican votes (that goes double for war-monger Hillary); b) WILL get almost ALL registered Democratic votes, regardless of who the candidate is. I told you it's simple.
As the parties have relatively equal support, it's more or less a tie. The winning margin is not in "undecideds", there are few of them and they more or less even out as well.
Therefore, to win you have to get people who don't normally vote to vote. Does anyone believe that Hillary could attract such voters? I didn't think so. Does anyone believe the "netroots" who supported Dean will vote for Hillary? I didn't think so - in fact, as you well know, they despise her.
No, the people who don't vote are people who think both parties are the same and thus don't give a flying fuck who wins.
Someone like Kucinich is obviously not cut from the same cloth as the rest of the field - on either side. He stands out because he's a plain, everyman kinda guy, pissed off at the system and not afraid to tell you so. People who don't usually vote respect that. The last candidate that spoke like a real person was Abraham Lincoln.
If you want to win in '08, you have to get these people to vote for you. They will relate to Kucinich, they will NOT relate to Hillary. People want to vote, but when it's a choice between war-monger A McCain and war-monger B Clinton....well that ain't no fucking choice at all, and it's back to a 50/50 proposition with Republican's having an edge in vote manipulation.
Obama has been a senator for about a 3 nano-seconds, forget about him this time around - the Reep base will be just as motivated against him as they will be against Hillary. Running-mate maybe.
So it's up to you. Democrats want this one MORE than the Reeps do. Unless you give them an excuse, i.e. Hillary or Obama, some of them will stay home and some non-voters will vote the Democratic 'everyman' because everyone is sick and fucking tired of the blown-dry salesmen of both parties who talk a lot and don't fucking say anything.
