On his show today, Tucker Carlson said "Sexual Harassment is a made up crime."
Yeah, you read that correctly. "Sexual Harassment is a made up crime." Who made it up this crime? Well, the Democrats, of course.
This occured during the course of a conversation with three male pundits about the White House Christmas Party and the types of Christmas cards that get sent out. They were particularly interested in the card sent out by a congresswomen from California (my apologies, I don't remember her name) who has a picture of herself and her cat sitting by a fireplace.
After Tucker's random outburst about sexual harassment he went on to say, "You look nice today. Bam! Sexual Harassment suit!" None of the guests on the show responded to the remark.
Simply telling a woman she looks nice today IS NOT sexual harassment. Now, if you told a woman she couldn't get a promotion unless she gave you a blow job, that's sexual harassment.
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission explains it best:
Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature constitute sexual harassment when this conduct explicitly or implicitly affects an individual's employment, unreasonably interferes with an individual's work performance, or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment.
Sexual harassment can occur in a variety of circumstances, including but not limited to the following:
- The victim as well as the harasser may be a woman or a man. The victim does not have to be of the opposite sex.
- The harasser can be the victim's supervisor, an agent of the employer, a supervisor in another area, a co-worker, or a non-employee.
- The victim does not have to be the person harassed but could be anyone affected by the offensive conduct.
- Unlawful sexual harassment may occur without economic injury to or discharge of the victim.
- The harasser's conduct must be unwelcome.
