Atrios has reminded us of one of the many issues with AWOL's 2004 doc dump, the redaction of the name of an officer whose flight privileges were revoked around the same time as AWOL:
James R. Bath.
Lexis reveals that Bath is almost certainly a copycat of Bush's biddnes days. He was general partner or chief executive of these Texas entities:
DEERGLEN, LTD., DOMESTIC LIMITED PARTNERSHIP (LP) 11/15/1984
ELLINGTON MTA, INC., DOMESTIC BUSINESS CORPORATION, 5/4/2001
EUREKA TELECOM INC., FOREIGN BUSINESS CORPORATION, 10/19/1995
EXPRESS PARK, INC., DOMESTIC BUSINESS CORPORATION, 1/5/1990
MBO INVESTMENTS, INC., DOMESTIC BUSINESS CORPORATION, 9/10/1987
SKYWAYS AIRCRAFT LEASING, INC., DOMESTIC BUSINESS CORPORATION, 7/7/1987
SOUTHWEST AIRPORT SERVICES, INC., DOMESTIC BUSINESS CORPORATION, 4/27/1978
All of these entities, except one, name only James R. Bath in the corporate filings, and have been dissolved. Ellington MTA Inc. is listed as merged. It lists 3 officers besides Bath. The president is listed as William E. King. He's the mayor of a town in Texas (with some colorful news coverage), and a partnership in the Texas firm Linebarger Heard Goggan Blair Graham Pena & Sampson, which apparently represents the shakers of Texas politics.
I'm sure there's fertile ground here - the above is from a 10 minute look. Someone with more time needs to find the way to show the biddness payoff to Mr. Bath that keeps him quiet on the reason for AWOL's lost flight privileges.
