Yep I have been banned.
Yesterday I went to a local café (coffee shop) in a nearby town,
While setting there reading the Tribune (Chicago that is), I heard some fellows at next table talking about what Rush Limbaugh had said on his talk show the day before.
Naturally I had to comment. Something along the lines "Limbaugh doesn’t know what he is talking about".
Of course this big course fellow that spends more time in the coffee shop than he does on his farm, came lumbering across the room.
His fat face shoved into mine, and said you must be McBride. Laughing I said guilty as charged.
With that he hollered back at his table that Ahole from WeDemocrats is in here again.
Well one thing lead to another and he invited me outside, which in my condition was funny, but I thought what the heck, I had my walking stick. Now for those of you who don’t know me, my walking stick is 2" diameter, 42" long with a 3" knot at top, all carved many decades ago by a member of my family and has been handed down since 1778, its out of the heart of a red cedar tree, and seasoned till its like steel.
Anyway think of the movie Walking Tall where Joe Pussar has this big stick.
We went outside, along with about a dozen others, and I honestly thought I was going to be in a fight, something I haven’t participated in for a very very long time.
More yelling about how stupid I was to be a Democrat, and thinks like how much do you pay the editor to get your stories in the Times, and ignorant stuff. I decided not to say anymore but watched his eyes expecting an attack. Nothing happened, after a bit he wound down, sweating in 40 degree temp, and went back in with slaps on the back from all his Red friends, as I started back in the door, the owner stopped me and told me that I was banned for 10 days.
Its no big loss, one of my sons is a manager at local McDonalds, and there is the morning coffee crowd there, so I moved down the road, when I got there two local Democrats came over and said, "here you been banned from D______s, laughing I said yep I had.
And asked them how they knew, seems one of the waitresses at the coffee shop is a closet Democrat, and called McDonalds to tell my son that I was in a fight in her parking lot.... Chris wasn’t working that day, and word spread around McDonalds quickly. Shortly after I came in and the compliments started, and the eventual question of why don’t you run for office...... Would that I could, bad health keeps me from a lot of things.
Well to wrap up the story, we must each stand up for our principles, even in view of a threat of bodily harm, of course carrying a big stick can prevent "accidents" from happening.
But BANNED, well gee that’s taking it a bit far don’t you think..... LOL
Later
