Good news everyone! (Happy Holidays).
Had to wait till my 24 hours was up before I could post again and take the load of our minds.
The listening device I found might be ordinary retail surveillance. Many thanks to the rightheaded and pragmatic Kos reader who recognised and suggested it. Would be useful if anyone else who has seen any of these devices could publish pictures, so that a diarist can compare and be sure evidence is firm. It's quite helpful being able to tell the difference between real listening devices and ones that might not be real.
Still, am a bit disappointed the listening device I found has turned out to be, perhaps, a shop bleeper. Thought all of my Christmases had come at once! Anyway, it is a great comfort to know my activist's imagination is just that - active (maybe).
UPDATE: For some reason the picture of my listening device isn't loading very well, go here to see it (if it doesn't load) or read on below.
I would like to thank all Daily Kos diarists for your support during this ordeal, especially for the diary about how to tell if your email is wiretapped
(must read!) and for the informed comment from patrioticliberal on viewing the picture (if it doesn't show up right click on the X, view properties. Copy the image link and open it in IE. Load it. Then hit back. It should display in the page. If you are a firefox user right click on the icon, chose "view image" and release your finger).
Re pictures of listening devices - any advice about researching these? Informative material on listening devices could be beneficial for Daily Kos diarists in the months ahead. This is the kind of thing a diarist on the edge turns to Daily Kos for, the sort of thing a diarist needs to know. To avoid any confusions. Because if I (or someone like me) were being listened to over here in Australia I would like to know I am standing on solid ground.
One other note: to the diarist who suggested I am a troll! Can you imagine how I panicked when I found a listening device in my home on Christmas eve? What if my listening device is real! To everyone else I say: how can we be certain cynics in our midst are who they say they are. Too convenient?
How many times must the lambs be lead to slaughter before we can sink in the sand.
