The hypocrisies could not be more clear.
Muslims are rioting protesting cartoons they find blasphemous, and the condescending West says Muslims must learn to tolerate freedom of speech. Oh, and David Irving is going to prison.
Instances such as the barbaric "honor killings" of daughters are used to denigrate Muslims, never mind the fact the Q'u'ran specifically forebades the taking of life in the next verse.
No, these men are portrayed as cool and calculating- rational; Islam is to blame.
But when Texas Bible-thumpers murder their children, such as Andrea Yates drowning her five children in a bathtub, or, more recently, Dena Schlosser sawing off her daughter's arms, each saying she was doing "God's Will," we recognize these acts as insane.
There has been no ridiculing of Christianity in the U.S media.
We're being manipulated by a media serving a corporate master with an imperial agenda in the Middle East.
For the record, I have no problem with countries having laws like the one that sent Richard Irving to jail. And, I am certain Andrea Yates and Dena Schlosser are insane.
I'm also certain those who kill in "honor" are insane.
Somehow Islam contributed to this.
And, just as "somehow," Christianity contributed to Yates and Schlosser.
I am pretty sure I know the reason. Religions are fairy-tales whose existence is increaasingly threatened with knowledge, especially science. Whether it's the clerics in rural Pakistan or the wack televnagelists on cable TV in Texas, the business known as churches are becoming increasingly desperate holding onto their flocks, and the rhetoric is now dangerously shrill. It's something like the mentally ill are confused, and religion offers them the worst imaginable experience- a false and apocalyptic notion of existence.
