Just found this
open letter to Bush from Ralph Nader. Searched the diaries and didn't find any about Nader in recent days except for
this one, which was kind of cute.
The letter was pretty typical Nader stuff. Particularly liked this quote:
President Harry Truman used to say, "the buck stops here." At what point does the buck stop at your desk in the Oval Office?
On a personal note, I'm a centralist NPA (no party affiliation), who almost voted for Nader in 2000. At that time, I was a rather uninformed voter. I always voted for a president (otherwise my conscience would have hurt me to criticize an administration that I hadn't cared enough about to even vote against). Never voted in a primary, and occasionally wrote in someone if the Republican and Democratic choices seemed bad.
The vote for Nader would have been mainly because I didn't like Bush, but didn't really like Gore much either. Thankfully, my husband informed me that a vote for Nader would have the same effect as voting for Bush, so Gore got my vote.
Now that I know more about politics, I'm doubly glad that Nader didn't get my vote too. He really showed his true colors in Oregon during this last election. Why most politicians so corrupt?
