Can you imagine being the schmuck who gets into the voting booth and is so constipated with lofty and impractical ideals that he or she can't stop Bush from ruining this country for another 4 years? Can you imagine how they are working with Republican groups to help defeat Kerry by splitting his natural vote? Damage done by Bush, for so many reasons, cannot be undone so quickly. In addition, these same constipated idiots think that the Democratic Party will take a hard turn to the left if Bush wins.
That is not only wrong but it's foolish. I heard Steve Earle on Air America Radio tearing into corporations, something the ultra liberal hates. Well, corporations are fine ways for businesses to work, for America to succeed and for people to take chances with their innovative ideas without losing everything they own.
If someone calculates that a retrofit costs more than the wrongful death suits that their negligence causes, their can be criminal prosecutions that are not protected by the corporate veil and class action suits, if Bush is thrown out, will continue to be a deterrent to cost effective lethal alternatives by corporations. Attacking the principle of the corporations place in the law is what moderate democrats would never follow.
Moderate Democrats also want immigration reform where a person cannot come here from another country, get into an accident the next day and be supported for the rest of their lives. Immigrants shouldn't be allowed to join their American families and expect to be supported by Americans and received Social Security and Medicare unless they've contributed a lifetime of work, like we all do. On the Social Security, I could be a little off because I believe you need 40 quarters of work before you can collect and then the amount you get is based upon what you earned, but I don't think that's true for Medicare and it's not true for Medicaid.
Americans want everyone to have a fair chance but not give it all away to people who have been here for a few months.
So that Nader voter who wants a love-in and happening every day needs to wake up and first do what is possible before they try to do the impossible. Even if they were realistic, change takes time, Americans need to time to understand the change.
Bush now talks about a National Sales Tax. If he gets in and that is passed, that could be the nail on the coffin for the United States. The anger will be uncontrollable once people figure out what has happened to them.
If there is a 30% sales tax on everything, except Real Estate, then the poor, and the middle and upper middle classes will be paying 30% on almost every GROSS dollar they earn. Meanwhile, back at the country club, there will be hysterical laughter, over the Waldorf salads, at the stupidity in America because the super rich will be paying a tax percentage in the single digits because lots of their money goes into real estate and lots of their money is invested...BINGO...no sales tax for them!!
For example, assume a person earning $30 million. He buys Real Estate for $20 million, and he increases his savings account and investment portfolios by 5 million. He spends $5 million to live on, of which $1 million is for Real Estate Tax and interest. Now he spends the rest of the $4,000,000 on living expenses that are all taxable, 30% of $4 million is $1.2 million so he is paying $1.2 million in taxes against a $30 million dollar income or 3.6%.

Of course, these are hypotheticals. However, something is wrong when the % of tax paid by those people in the lower 85% on the earnings scale is much higher than the tax percentage paid by the wealthiest 15%. Shouldn't it be reveresed? In some cases the middle class would be paying five times what the wealthy is paying. That is not capitalism, it's the Great American Joke.
