For some random reason, I began checking up on this guy, who is running for Senate in Colorado (on the Democratic side, of course.) The two big names for the chance to lose to Nighthorse Cambpell, Gary Hary and Mark UDall, both dropped out. Another handful of every single Democrat in Colorado to have ever won a vote in his own family, has dropped out of the race, leaving Mike Miles the presumptive nominee. Now, as some of you may know, I'm a speech-freak. And this guy, I don't know if he just got lucky in hiring, or whatever, but his speeches are exceptional.
I think that Miles has a chance to be the kind of politician we dream of, late at night. Now, the likelihood is that he isn't that great, but on the plus side, he can speak. He was born in the Panama Canal Zone, a place that no longer even exists, to a nearly destitute family. He became a soldier, a Ranger, in fact, before the word was infected by the fundraising attempts of our President. He then went to berkely and got a degree in International Affairs and Slavic Languages, became a diplomat to the Kremlin. He then came home, and became a teacher, and then a principal. Either way, this is the kind of guy you should take a look at, and see what you think, and just make sure I haven't lost whatever bit of my mind I ever had. His site is mikemiles4senate.com
